Hmmm. missing parts already and the frame was bent upon arrival. Maybe a good frame or not, we'll do a follow up once the frame is straightened out and we get all the parts. Today is Friday and the company is closed until Monday.

... to the typical frame/box spring set-up. If you already own a mattress without a box spring, or are considering purchasing one without a box spring, then this frame is for you.
This integrates your frame and box spring into one layer, so that you can have storage underneath the bed (things less than ~12.75" can slide in and out from underneath) and a mattress that isn't so tall you have to climb in (the top of our mattress sits ~26" above the floor. The product comes completely dissasembled when shipped (think IKEA.) but an hour or two of effort and careful reading of the instructions and it goes together with no problem. The laminated birch slats are supple, substantial, and give the mattress some much-needed spring beneath. The set-up also ventilates your mattress bottom well, so you don't have the dust-mite haven that the layer between mattress and boxspring can become in the typical set-up.
Disadvantages: no system for attaching a headboard to the frame as there is with the conventional, low-to-the-ground metal frames. But we have the headboard pinned against the wall with the frame pushed against it, and have had no real problems.
Overall, we are very pleased, having saved significant $$ over the box spring/frame package (we already owned the mattress) and we also have good storage without having to purchase the dorm room-style bed risers.
