I was pleased to find a stand that looked decent, appeared sturdy, got mostly good reviews and didn't cost much (given the ridiculous prices for stands). Amazingly, it was delivered a day and a half after I placed the order!
I built it very quickly, and I disconnected my Onkyo TX-NR808 receiver from its current position and started to push it into the middle shelf of the Techcraft stand. It wouldn't fit! It's about an inch too high for the available space (and there's even less space on the lower shelf). I then tried to drop it in (I hadn't put the top shelf glass on yet) and also had no luck. The NR808 is too deep as well. And even if I had been able to wiggle it in, there's no way it would have fit in the space available. What a huge disappointment!
Before you say "What a dufus! Didn't measure!", take a look at the listed specs. There're no shelf measurements stated. One can only assume that a stand being sold these days (especially for TVs around 60") would accommodate an ordinary receiver like the NR808. Visually, it really appears that the middle shelf would have room for a normal sized receiver. Be warned it does not.
If my receiver was some kind of monster, I'd understand this. But the Onkyo TX-NR808 is an ordinary receiver by contemporary standards. This stand is simply inadequate for the purpose for which it's sold. If I have to pay anything to return it, and don't get a full refund, I'm going to be very upset. I'll update this review with my adventures with customer support.
Aside from the fact the stand is useless if you have a decent-sized receiver, it seems pretty nice.
UPDATE: I decided to remove the center shelf to make room for my receiver. It decreases the usefulness and good appearance of the stand, but it does allow me to avoid returning it (a major pain). The stand and my new LG plasma look OK together and, until the next biggish earthquake, it all seems pretty solid. I'm leaving my rating at one star because the unit as advertised (with both its shelves) is not suitable for its purpose, given the size of contemporary electronics.

I chose this TV stand for size and price. I had read reviews and took a chance. I ordered one evening and a little disappointed it said would take a week to receive it. I came home next day and it had been delivered. I put it together that evening. It took me 1 hour and 15 min to do. It was easy and this grandma didnt have any problems. After I got everything on the stand I realized it was very sleek and stylish. I had thought it might look cheap but it does not. I highly recommend this item. It was delivered without any damage also. everything went together quickly and as it pictured. I am very pleased.
